Ancient Ones: Monsters from the Near East

A discussion on the inspiration of Lovecraft’s ancient ones, and how both monsters /kaiju exist within an ancient Near Eastern (Middle Eastern) context . How can authors & artists approach art based on mythology from the Middle East/Arab/Islamic word outside the lens of Orientalism? What do those mosters represent in ancient and modern times?
