This year, many other conventions have had to make the difficult decision to cancel. We are very upset that we will be joining them with the cancellation of DerpyCon 2020
To meet with New Jersey’s requirements for economic recovery, DerpyCon–which is considered a mass gathering–cannot occur until a widespread vaccine is available.
As many may recall, this was going to be our first year in our new home in New Brunswick, NJ. We have been working for nearly three years to put this year together, and while we are disappointed, the safety of our attendees, staff, and guests is our number one priority.
With this cancellation, we will be automatically rolling all attendee registrations for DerpyCon 2020 to DerpyCon 2021. If you would like to request a refund, please fill out the Request Refund form on our website at www.derpycon.com/cancel. If you have booked a room at our venue, your reservation will automatically be cancelled on August 7. Accepted Artists and Dealers will have the option to rollover their booths to DerpyCon 2021; our Exhibitors staff will be reaching out shortly with more information. Please feel free to reach out via the HelpDesk if you have any additional questions or concerns.
On a lighter note, in place of our in-person convention, we will be holding our first ever virtual con! We are bringing DerpyCon Online to you live from our venue in New Brunswick, NJ throughout our weekend of October 30th-November 1st, 2020. Our staff and selected presenters will be on-site to provide content, including a cosplay contest, panels, DJs, and so much more! Stay tuned for more information in the months to come. We know so many of you still want to come back to DerpyCon. Our 2021 event will be October 29-31, 2021 at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick in New Brunswick, NJ. We will have more information for you on that at a later date, so make sure to follow us on social media or subscribe to our newsletter to keep informed.
